Research has shown what everybody already knows–music makes kids feel better!

And actively making music, for example, playing in a drum circle, makes kids feel even better.

When kids play in a drum circle, they stay engaged with themselves, with their lives, and with others, all of which can improve their chances of dealing successfully with many challenges.

I’ve done workshops for kids dealing with…

  • cancer
  • hemophilia
  • depression
  • muscular dystrophy
  • change
  • stress

Judy Freeman, Program Administrator of Gilda’s Club Westchester, a free cancer support community for people living with cancer, their families and friends, in White Plains NY, wrote:

“It is always such a pleasure to have Saragail with us.  People come to our Clubhouse for many reasons….among them are support and the feeling of community.  During Saragail’s sessions with our members, I can see the joy and happiness on their faces and see how they enjoy the music they make with her.  Her ebullient manner and kind spirit fill the room, filling the hearts of everyone present, facilitating a sense of joyful wellbeing.  I recommend Saragail’s programs without reservation.  Any organization would be lucky to have her.”
